The superstructure of any building is only as strong as its foundation. The same is true for the local church. Any church that is not built on the foundation of the unchanging Word of God is open to the influence of error and evil. Thus we are commited to "hold fast" to the Bible which is God's revealed truth. "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4).
